Regency Centers Corp. has acquired Scripps Ranch Marketplace, a 132,000-square-foot shopping center in San Diego. The Vons- and CVS-anchored retail asset includes Starbucks as a tenant, as well as other local operators.
The retail center is located at 10675 Scripps Poway Pkwy., within the master-planned community of Scripps Ranch, which contains more than 3.6 million square feet of office and industrial space. The site provides easy access to Interstate 15 and is situated just across the street from the 584,000-square-foot Scripps Northgate Corporate Center.
Popular destination
“Scripps Ranch Marketplace is located in a high-energy, growing retail corridor and will complement our two existing centers in the area, 4S Commons Town Center and Twin Peaks Plaza in Poway,” said Omar Hussein, Regency’s vice president-market officer for the San Diego region, in prepared remarks. “Regency will ensure that Scripps Ranch Marketplace continues to be a go-to community destination, and we plan to enhance the center and merchandising mix over time.”
The acquisition brings Regency’s San Diego-Area footprint to more than 2 million square feet of community-serving retail. Earlier this month, the company purchased Roosevelt Square, a 150,000-square foot, multi-level neighborhood shopping center in Seattle.
