The Rezidor Hotel Group, a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, has announced plans to open the Park Inn by Radisson Astana in Kazakhstan. The new hotel, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013, will feature 248 rooms and will be Rezidor’s second hotel in Astana; the group already operates the Radisson Blu hotel in town. The owning company of the two Rezidor hotels is Incom Astana L.L.C., a well-known developer in Astana, Kazakhstan for more than 10 years.

Located in the center of Astana, the new construction will offer easy access to Astana’s new city center and is closely situated to Astana’s cultural sites. The Park Inn by Radisson Astana will feature, apart from the 248 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar and 12 meeting rooms varying in size from 334 square feet to 1,895 square feet.

The Rezidor Hotel Group features a portfolio of more than 430 hotels in operation and under development with around 95,000 rooms in 70 countries.

“Eastern Europe is one of our key regions for future business development. Our portfolio already comprises 105 hotels in operation and under development with more than 25,000 rooms; and we aim to further strengthen our presence,” said Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor in a prepared statement.

The group plans to consolidate its position of leading international hotel operator in Russia/CIS and Baltics.
