SCG America Group, part of Shanghai Construction Group, has opened its 132-key DoubleTree by Hilton in Pomona, Calif. The building was formerly a Hilltop Suites, and in 2016 the owner commenced a large-scale gut rehab project to update the interior and exterior of the property. SCG picked up the asset for $9.5 million from a seller out of a foreclosure action in 2014, according to public records.

Located at 3101 W. Temple Ave., the recently renovated Los Angeles-area hotel is situated along the Orange Freeway, about two miles south of Interstate 10 and within 30 miles of downtown Los Angeles. A number of attractions are positioned in the surrounding area, including California State Polytechnic University’s Pomona campus and the Pomona Fairplex, which contains more than 300,000 square feet of event space.

Hotel amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, 8,000 square feet of meeting space, complimentary Wi-Fi and an on-site restaurant. Outdoor parking is available to all guests for no additional charge.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts is handling property management for the asset.
