The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Texas, will undergo its first major renovation and expansion in its 15-year history. Luxury fitness center Equinox, Crayola Experience and a Class A office building are part of the $125 million reinvention process. Additionally, the North Texas Performing Arts’ Plano Children’s Theatre is scheduled to open this summer at the Willow Bend Center for the Arts.

Located at 6121 W. Park Blvd., the shopping center is owned and managed by Starwood Retail Partners. Construction of the next phase began one year ago and will be completed in phases. The 35,000-square-foot Equinox will offer studio classes, personal training, spa services and products, as well as food and juice bars. The 60,000-square-foot Crayola Experience will include a 5,000-square-foot store that will open in spring 2018. The new anchors join recently announced dining options, including Knife, Terra Mediterranean and the Mexican Bar Company.

The seven-story, 200,000-square-foot office tower will accommodate up to 800 employees. The facility is being designed and constructed in collaboration with Encore Commercial LLC.

The renovation and expansion of The Shops at Willow Bend come a few months after JCPenney sold its 1.8 million-square-foot headquarters in Plano, Texas, to Dreien Opportunity Partners.
