Skanska has appointed a new Senior Vice President and Account Manager at its Blue Bell, Pa., office. Todd Lofgren will succeed Ed Szwarc, who will step down after 21 years with the company. Szwarc will remain in the leadership position until July to oversee the transition.

Lofgren will be responsible for the company’s regional strategy and will lead the account management team. The team deals with customer and stakeholder relationships in Delaware, Southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Lofgren will also train new employees.

Lofgren, who has 20 years of experience in the real estate business, has been with Skanska for more than 18 years, previously holding a Senior Project Manager position within the company. Prior to joining Skanska 18 years ago, he held a Project Engineer position at Parsons Engineering & Science and, before that, at Program Management Co. He is a LEED-accredited professional and holds an OSHA 30-hour certification. He studied Geo Environmental Engineering at Pennsylvania State University.

Todd has spent most of his career with Skanska, so he brings a unique understanding of Skanska’s culture and positioning in the marketplace. His leadership will further solidify Skanska’s role as a top provider of construction for healthcare, life sciences, retail and higher education facilities throughout the region,” said Mats Johansson, COO at Skanska USA Building, in a prepared statement.
