Skanska Tapped for VA Research Development
The company signed a contract to develop a new facility for a collaboration between Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech. Construction began in December and is slated for completion in January 2020.

Skanska has signed a $68 million contract with Carilion Clinic to build a new research facility in Roanoke, Va. The contract will be included in its U.S. order bookings for quarter four of 2017.
A collaboration between Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech, the research laboratory will feature four floors comprising 139,930 square feet. This property will complete the Virginia Tech Carilion Biomedical Research addition on the Virginia Tech Carilion Health Sciences and Technology Campus.
Construction began in December 2017 and is slated for completion in January 2020.
Skanska has continued to be active in Virginia. Last August, the company signed a $167 million contract with Meridian Group and Rockefeller Group to develop a new movie theater and office building in Tysons Corner, Va.
