Skanska Tapped to Build NCSU Engineering Facility
The company signed a $106 million contract to construct a 226,042-square-foot building, scheduled for completion in July 2020.

Skanska has signed a contract with North Carolina State University to build the school a new engineering facility at its NC State Centennial Campus in Raleigh, N.C.
The building will comprise around 226,042 square feet and will be home to engineering labs, administrative offices and classrooms. Construction will begin this month and is scheduled for completion in July 2020. The $106 million contract will be included in the U.S. order booking for the first quarter of 2018.
Recent University Project
Last week, Skanska began construction on the first building at the $3 billion Water Street Tampa project, where the company will be developing the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute tower. The university project will comprise 380,000 square feet and is estimated to cost around $153 million. Designed by HOK, the property is scheduled for completion by quarter four 2019. Up to 1,800 students, faculty, researchers and staff will be relocated to the medical school and research facility.
Strategic Property Partners’ Water Street Tampa will comprise 9 million square feet upon completion and will feature two hotels, 3,500 residential units, 1 million square feet of cultural and retail space and 2.6 million square feet of office space. A total of 18 buildings are set to be constructed as part of the development, situated on 53 acres.
