South Florida Charity Signs 11 KSF Lease

The Fort Lauderdale Independence Training & Education Center will relocate to a 70,874-square-foot business park in Fort Lauderdale. Berger Commercial Realty negotiated the deal on behalf of the landlord.

The Fort Lauderdale Independence Training & Education Center, a charity for dependent youth in Broward County, has inked a 11,057-square-foot lease at Prospect Park I in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The entity will relocate its office from 1100 W. McNab Road. Berger Commercial Realty/ CORFAC International negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord, Adler Real Estate Partners.

Located at 5201 N.W. 33rd Ave., Prospect Park I is part of the Fort Lauderdale Commerce Center. The six-building business park is just off Commercial Boulevard, between Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike. Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport is roughly 2 miles away, while the Cypress Creek Tri-Rail station is less than 4 miles away.

Built in 1982 on a 5.4-acre site, the 70,874-square-foot office complex underwent cosmetic renovations in 2016. The property includes flexible floorplans, controlled access and 184 parking spaces. According to Yardi Matrix data, Willcott Engineering, Moguldom Media Group and Clarity Genetics are among the tenants of the office park. 

Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC International Senior Vice President Keith Graves, Senior Sales Associate Jonathan Thiel and Senior Vice President Joseph Byrnes were part of the team that assisted the landlord in the lease negociation. In March, Byrnes also brokered two office space leases totaling approximately 19,000 square feet at Lauderdale Marketplace in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
