President & CEO, Cassidy Turley – San Diego

Memorable Achievements:  At 37, Daniel Broderick is proud to be running Cassidy Turley’s San Diego office. This past year marks the young CEO’s two-year anniversary at Cassidy Turley, and he is proud to be contributing to the growth of the new-kid-on-the-block company. His office came up with its own mission statement for 2012 – “Client, Community, Culture.” In addition to his hard work at the office, Broderick likes giving back to the community. Orphaned himself at age 13 after the death of his father, Broderick contributed to increasing awareness at Cassidy Turley of local charitable and community causes, in particular those geared toward helping children. Early this year, his office helped build 45 bikes for disadvantaged youth through the local YMCA. And just recently, the company raised $50,000 via telethon, calling clients, family and friends for contributions.

Secrets to Success: Hard work.

Best Advice Received:

  • Steve Silk and Jay Borzi from Eastdil Secured said that the world is round, and what you put out will come back to you good or bad. Broderick’s Uncle Larry, a former Marine and current entrepreneur who endured ups and downs in business, taught his nephew how to weather the storms. He is someone Broderick still calls for business advice, due to his talent for breaking down problems and solving them.

Advice to Others: First and foremost, you need to love the business to be successful; otherwise, it becomes a job and not a passion. Also, be a student of the business, and surround yourself with people who are smarter and more talented than you.

What Others Say About Him:He’s a very hardworking, smart guy. He’s an honest and straightforward person and goes out of his way to help out in all of the deals we have been involved in,”  said Dan Goldman, partner at client DRA Advisors.
