A new hospitality complex is soon to emerge in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. The mixed-use property will consist of two components, The Westin Manila Sonata Place and The Residences at The Westin Manila Sonata Place. The project is slated for opening in 2019 and it will be the first Westin-branded mixed-use development in Southeast Asia.
Located in the Ortigas Business District in the southeastern part of downtown Manila, less than 7miles from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, The Westin Manila Sonata Place will include 300 guestrooms equipped with ergonomic work areas along with a full range of the brand’s signature amenities. The hotel will also offer three food and beverage venues, a full-service restaurant and a specialty restaurant. The hotel will also offer a fitness studio as well as a full-service spa and a swimming pool. More than 15,000 square feet of function space will also be available, comprising two ballrooms and six meeting rooms.
The Residences at The Westin Manila Sonata Place will feature nearly 350 private apartment units with one to three bedrooms. Owners will benefit from private access to a separate pool, fitness center and lounge, as well as to the public areas of the hotel such as the lounge, spa, and dining venues.
According to a press release issued by Starwood Hotels, the property will be owned by Robinsons Land Corp., a Philippines-based real estate company involved in the development and operation of shopping malls, hotels, mixed-use properties, office buildings, residential condominiums and social housing projects in key cities and other urban areas nationwide. The construction of the new facility joins two other Philippines-based hotels in the developer’s pipeline. The Westin Manila Bayshore and Sheraton Manila Hotel are scheduled to open in 2018 and 2017. Currently, Starwood has close to 300 operating hotels in Asia Pacific and more than 230 hotels are underway in the area.
