Growing the number of tech companies choosing the Dallas suburb, Delta Electronics Americas, a subsidiary of the Taiwan-based electronics provider, has acquired a nearly 30-acre office complex in Plano, Texas. Capital Commercial Investments Inc. sold the 423,123-square-foot 601 Data Drive located on nearly 13 acres, as well as a more than 17-acre parking lot across the street.

In the first half of the year, 74 office properties totaling more than 13.4 million square feet traded within the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, according to CommercialEdge data. In June, Drawbridge Realty entered the Metroplex with the acquisition of HQ53 in Plano. The nearly 250,000-square-foot building is fully leased to Aimbridge Hospitality.

Plano: Tech hub

The Plano facility will house Delta’s R&D, manufacturing and sales teams and is anticipated to generate “hundreds of jobs” in part by relying on talent supplied by local universities and colleges.

With the current expansion, Delta plans to increase its nationwide portfolio in sectors such as powertrain and power management solutions for automotive applications, as well as power systems and solutions for data centers and 5G networks, among other power and thermal management solutions. Delta’s commitment to clean and energy-efficient solutions is also mirrored by its news base, which is expected to run on 100 percent renewable electricity by 2030.

The two-story property was completed in 1994 and offers 949 parking spaces at a ratio of 2.19 spaces per 1,000 square feet. The office building is adjacent to the AT&T Plano campus, roughly 1 mile from President George Bush Turnpike and less than 6 miles west of Delta Electronics Americas Plano Office. Downtown Dallas is some 17 miles south.
