Thor Equities and QuadReal Property Group have officially broken ground on 800 W. Fulton Market. The mixed-use project will be located at the eastern entrance to the historic Fulton Market district, close to another Thor Equities asset at 905 W. Fulton Market. Slated for delivery by spring 2021, the asset will occupy a full city block, replacing the John R. Morreale Meat warehouse, the Isaacson & Stein Fish Co. building as well as The Mid nightclub.

The 19-story building is targeting both LEED Platinum and WELL Building Standard certifications and is expected to add more than 400,000 square feet of office, public amenities, retail and restaurant space to the area. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the design firm, plans to make 800 W. Fulton one of the most architecturally distinctive buildings in the neighborhood, featuring a varied façade with stepped, landscaped terraces which will give the tower a slender profile.

Cushman & Wakefield will be handling office leasing for the property. According to Managing Director Jack McKinney, several potential tenants have already manifested their interest in the building, attracted by its location, smart technology, green amenities and views.
