Angela Cain has been named as the Urban Land Institute’s new global CEO, filling a role that has been vacant for the better part of a year.

Cain will join ULI in September, departing her position as CEO of CoreNet Global after 14 years. Lawrence Bazrod, CoreNet Global’s chief operating officer, will serve as the organization’s interim CEO until a successor is named.

During Cain’s nearly decade-and-a-half tenure, CoreNet’s Global membership grew from 6,000 to upward of 10,000. She was previously CEO of the Mississippi Association of REALTORS.

Clare DeBriere, chair of the ULI Americas Executive Committee, and Kristina Raspe, a ULI global board member, co-chaired the institute’s CEO search committee. ULI CFO Leo Gonzalez and Mary Beth Corrigan, chief of staff in the office of the CEO, became co-interim managing directors after Ron Pressman stepped down as global CEO in October 2023. Pressman had stepped into the role in October 2022, succeeding W. Edward Walter, who had led ULI for four years.
