US Storage Centers Expands California Portfolio
The self storage operator has acquired a 649-unit facility located in Bakersfield.
After developing a 1,440-unit storage asset in Compton, US Storage Centers has further expanded its California footprint with the acquisition of a 118,595-square-foot facility in Bakersfield. The deal also marks the company’s second investment in Bakersfield. US Storage represented itself in the transaction.
Located at 3813 Mesa Grande St., the facility is alongside Golden State Highway, which provides exposure to 124,000 vehicles per day, Yardi Matrix data shows. Additionally, the storage is within a cluster of businesses that further increase its visibility. The area is also densely populated, more than 160,000 people live within a 3-mile radius, according to Yardi Matrix.
Constructed in 1988 on nearly 6 acres, the 23-building storage totals 649 units ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Characteristics of the facility include electronic gated entry, climate control, drive-up access, security cameras, alarmed units and RV parking spaces. Additional services provided include on-site management and truck rental options.
