ReliaStar Life Insurance Co.—a subsidiary of Voya Financial—has inked a new lease with Superior Essex, a global manufacturer of wire and cable products. The company will relocate its operations to The Pavilion, a Class A office property in Sandy Springs, Ga. According to Yardi Matrix, Voya purchased the property back in June 2005 for $7.1 million from Jackson National Life Insurance. The firm had been the sole tenant at the property, before Superior Essex signed on.
Located at 5770 Powers Ferry Road, the tenant is set to occupy 57,078 square feet across two full floors of the five-story building. The space will feature an open floor plan designed to facilitate collaboration. The 128,000-square-foot property was constructed in 1985 and includes an expansive green space, a food-court style cafeteria that underwent $1.5 million in upgrades and a 13,000-square-foot fitness center that underwent $500,000 in upgrades to feature top-of-the-line exercise equipment, basketball and racquetball courts, as well as remodeled locker rooms.

JLL’s Senior Leasing Directors Kay Younglove and Glenn Aspinwall represented ReliaStar in the lease transaction. CBRE’s Vice Chairman Sam Holmes represented the tenant.
“We are excited for the years of opportunity this transition will provide for Superior Essex. We’re looking forward to aligning our culture of collaboration, agility, engagement, and respect with our workplace—this will be made possible with this move to The Pavilion’s tenant-focused site,” said Anna Basista, vice president of Global Human Resources for Superior Essex, in a prepared statement.
JLL has had an active start in the Georgia market this year. Just last month, the firm entered into a partnership with Ascent to lease the company’s newly completed data center ATL1, situated in the growing technology hub of Alpharetta, Ga.
