Watson Land Co. promoted Jeffrey Jennison to chief executive officer. Jennison replaced real estate industry veteran Bruce Choate, who retired in March this year after serving as CEO since 2003. In his new role as president & CEO, Jennison will oversee Watson’s portfolio and operations, including new development, investment and property management.

Jennison has held various senior roles during his 17-year tenure with Watson. He joined the company as vice president of asset management in 2000 and became chief operating officer in 2013. In 2014, Jennison was appointed president, when succession planning for the orderly transition to his new role as CEO began in collaboration with Choate.

Choate continues on as a member of Watson’s Board of Directors after nearly 26 years with the company. He joined as CFO and oversaw the doubling of the company’s portfolio. Most recently, his work in a multi-year assemblage of 260 acres to form Watson Industrial Park Chino secured the next phase of long-term growth for the company’s Southern California portfolio. Choate also contributed to the expansion of the firm’s portfolio to the eastern U.S. with an investment in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.

Watson currently owns and operates 20 million square feet of master-planned industrial real estate properties in key Southern California and East Coast markets.
