Baltimore—West Elm, a home furnishing retailer that operates more than 100 stores worldwide, has recently announced the opening of its first Maryland property at Baltimore’s Harbor Point. Situated at 1301 Dock St. in downtown Baltimore, the roughly 11,400-square-foot retail center will open doors on Sept. 15, in the Exelon Building.

The new retail destination will bring approximately 30 jobs. Several local artisans will sell their products as part of West Elm’s LOCAL program. The list includes Dylan Design Co., Tomahawk Design Co., Foxwood Co. and Waxing Kara, among others. Also, a complimentary Design Lab will be of service for customers who need professional advice and assistance.

Part of the celebration profits will go to the Living Classrooms Foundation, a local non-profit organization inspiring the young to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training.
