WGL Energy Facilities Among US’s Top-Performing Solar Projects

kWh Analytics’ report recognized the Washington, D.C.-headquartered energy company for three solar projects, all located in New Mexico.

The first independent analysis of the top-performing 100 solar projects in the U.S. places three facilities owned and operated by WGL Energy Systems, a WGL Holdings company, among the highest-performing in the industry.

Developed by kWh Analytics, the report looks into solar project performance and provides expert analysis of solar energy output and system performance benchmarks. The list of top-performing solar projects also includes facilities owned by Apple, SunPower Corp., NextEra Energy Resources, Tesla, Invenergy and Duke Energy.

WGL Energy has more than 290 megawatts of distributed generation projects installed or under contract across 21 states and the District of Columbia. The three facilities highlighted in the report are all located in New Mexico:

  • a 2-megawatt system at Rio Rancho High School
  • a 2-megawatt project at Sue Cleveland High School in New Mexico
  • a 3-megawatt installation at Kit Carson Elementary School
